What was the highlight of Aparthotel SunClub Salou
A great place to stay with a few caveats.
The hotel is well-situated in a quiet area about 10 minutes by bus from the main tourist strip of Salou. There are multiple great beaches within a short walking distance and there are a few bars and restaurants a short distance down the hill in the main village or Cap Salou. The apartment we stayed in was a decent size and very clean. The staff, incuding the receptionists, the cleaners and bar staff, could not have been nicer or more helpful. As previous reviews have mentioned Alice is an absolutely excellent ambassador for this hotel. The swimming pool was grand but unheated as is the norm. The kiddie pool was pretty average at best, my children couldn't help but compare with the surrounding hotels which had far better slides etc. So I wouldn't expect the kids to be overly enthusiastic about it.
While we enjoyed our stay, there were a few things that could have been better. The Wi-Fi was unusable in our apartment, possibly because it was on the end of the corridor, so we had to rely on our mobile data, which wasn't ideal. Only the window in the children's room of our 5th floor apartment could be secured closed which was a concern for us with a 3 and 5 year old especially with a balcony. The air-conditioning was not working or, as seems is common in Spain, was not activated until the weather gets warmer. We stayed at the start of May so the weather was in the 20-25C range. On a couple of the nights I would have liked to have been able to cool the apartment down before bed. The shower in the bathroom was not up to scratch at all, the shower head was poor and the temperature control was disastrous, the variation between freezing and scalding was extremely annoying especially with small children so we had to have baths instead.

Amazing sea view, spacious apartment, really nice breakfast- normal bacon :)
Watered down orange juice the only negative from the breakfast and the pools are a little small
